Automated Group Administration Implements Benefit Informatics’ Data Integration and Analytics Technology

Web-based software helps employers identify and control health costs

TULSA, Okla. /Fort Wayne, Ind. – August 31, 2011 ̶ Automated Group Administration, Inc., a leading Third Party Administrator (TPA) of self-funded benefit plans, recently implemented Web-based Data Analytics from Benefit Informatics to consolidate multiple data sources and provide clients with integrated plan analysis and reporting.

Automated Group Administration (AGA) utilizes Benefit Informatics’ Data Analysis and Reporting applications to analyze plan utilization, including identifying cost drivers and opportunities to control costs. Using both standard and ad-hoc/customized analysis technology, AGA can provide their customers and brokers with analysis and reporting at the group, plan and individual member level. This technology allows Automated Group Administration to show their self-funded employer customers exactly where they are spending their health benefit dollars, including key procedures, diagnosis, providers and high cost individuals. With this information, employers can adjust plan designs, implement and evaluate wellness and disease management programs. Because Benefit Informatics consolidates medical, pharmacy and other claim information into one data warehouse, AGA is able to analyze all aspects of plan activity.

“We have been very pleased with Benefit Informatics’ ability to integrate multiple data sources into one data warehouse and give us one platform, one location to review all of our customers’ plan activity,” said Greg Ward, President of Automated Group Administration. “The analysis and reporting technology Benefit Informatics provides us has allowed our operations to dramatically reduce the time it takes to supply our customers with analysis and reporting.”

Philip Kurtz, President of Benefit Informatics, points to Automated Group Administration as a prime example of TPAs utilizing data to enhance their service to self-funded employers, “Automated Group Administration is committed to providing their customers with timely plan information and giving employers flexible reporting that helps actively manage health and benefit plans. We are very pleased to be a part of this important process.”
