TULSA, Okla. /AKRON, OhioMutual Health Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Medical Mutual of Ohio, serves self-funded employers across the nation by providing comprehensive employee health benefits while helping control costs.

Mutual Health Services recently implemented Web-based Data Integration, Analysis and Reporting technology from Benefit Informatics to consolidate multiple data sources into one data warehouse and enhance client reporting. Utilizing Benefit Informatics’ Software as a Service (SaaS) technology, Mutual Health Services can streamline analysis of health plan utilization, identify cost drivers and automate reporting.

“Benefit Informatics is a valuable partner in providing our clients with reporting and information they need to monitor plan activity and make the most informed decisions about plan changes,” said Mutual Health Services Vice President Douglas Kuczynski. “We can provide our clients immediate access to plan utilization and we have the flexibility to drill-down into specific diagnosis, procedure or provider. The software is very user-friendly and gives us the flexibility to provide our clients the data they need, when they need it.”

Benefit Informatics’ standard and ad-hoc reporting applications allow Mutual Health Services employees, customers and affiliated benefits advisors to see comprehensive plan information with the click of a mouse. Custom filtering provides access to specific information, including claim, eligibility, wellness, disease management, stop-loss and other aspects. The flexible system can incorporate additional elements to provide employers a complete picture of their healthcare costs, compare plan performance to industry benchmarks and view trends in utilization.

“Mutual Health Services is a premier Third Party Administrator and is noted for innovative service and technology,” said Philip Kurtz, President of Benefit Informatics. “We are very pleased to work with them to provide health cost transparency and tools to better control rising healthcare costs.”
